Return to From the Wonder Room

A Hidden Letter From Julia

A Letter to the Woman Still Becoming

For the parts of you that were never lost, only waiting to be remembered.

Dear You,

I wonder how many versions of yourself you've tucked away over the years.

The little girl who dreamed without hesitation.

The woman who learned to be strong because life gave her few alternatives.

The curious one. The hopeful one. The one who used to laugh a little louder, dream a little bigger, and believe that almost anything was possible.

And then, somewhere along the way, life happened.

Responsibilities arrived. Expectations grew. Relationships changed. Dreams were postponed, revised, or quietly placed on shelves we promised ourselves we'd return to someday.

And perhaps without even realizing it, you began making yourself smaller to accommodate the life unfolding around you.

I wonder, when was the last time you visited those forgotten pieces of yourself?

Not to criticize them.

Not to question the choices you've made.

But simply to remember.

There's something interesting about self-acceptance.

We talk about it as though it's a destination. A place we arrive after doing enough inner work, surviving enough difficult seasons, or finally becoming comfortable in our own skin.

But I don't think it happens quite that neatly.

Some days, you may look in the mirror and genuinely appreciate the woman looking back at you.

Other days, you may find yourself questioning decisions you made years ago, comparing your journey to someone else's, or wishing you could rewrite a chapter of your story.

And perhaps that's part of being human.

We aren't always going to love every decision, every reflection, or every version of ourselves.

But I believe there's a difference between recognizing our imperfections and allowing those imperfections to define our worth.

You are allowed to be a work in progress without treating yourself like something that needs to be fixed.

Read that again if you need to.

Inside The Wonder Room, I want you to feel comfortable arriving exactly as you are.

You don't have to bring a polished version of yourself through the door.

You don't need an impressive story of triumph.

You don't have to pretend you've healed from everything that hurt you or discovered the answers to questions you've carried for years.

Perhaps you're still figuring out what happiness looks like.

Perhaps you're rediscovering a creative passion you abandoned when life became too demanding.

Maybe you're learning how to establish boundaries, trust yourself again, or accept that the future you once imagined isn't necessarily the future you want anymore.

Whatever season you're in, there's room for you here.

Even on the days when you feel uncertain.

Especially on those days.

I often think about the stories we carry.

Some are written by the people who raised us. Others are shaped by love, loss, disappointment, and the expectations of a world that always seems to have something to say about who we should become.

And then there are the stories we write for ourselves.

The ones that begin when we finally ask:

What do I want?

What parts of myself have I neglected?

And what would my life look like if I stopped apologizing for the person I'm becoming?

These are some of the questions that find their way into my writing.

In Becoming Me. Again., I explore the delicate, sometimes uncomfortable process of returning to ourselves, honoring the women who came before us, and reclaiming the voices we thought we'd lost.

Through The Glow-Up Series, I explore growth, gratitude, reflection, and the small decisions that help us create more intentional lives.

And in The Skin Series, I wander through the complicated spaces of love, longing, heartbreak, vulnerability, and the emotions that remind us how deeply human we are.

Different stories.

Different chapters.

But somewhere beneath them, a familiar question keeps resurfacing.

Who are we when we finally give ourselves permission to be?

I hope that as you explore The Wonder Room, you'll discover more than books, poems, and reflections.

I hope you'll find a sentence that makes you stop for a moment.

A question that lingers long after you've closed the page.

A story that reminds you of something you'd forgotten about yourself.

Or perhaps an unexpected little piece of encouragement on a day when you didn't realize how much you needed it.

And if something you discover here inspires you to open one of those forgotten doors within yourself, I hope you'll walk through it.

Not because you need to become a different woman.

But because the woman you already are deserves to be known, understood, and loved.

By others, certainly.

But most importantly, by you.

So, dear reader, take your time.

There is no deadline for self-acceptance.

No universal timeline for healing.

No age at which you must have everything figured out.

You can change your mind.

You can begin again.

You can mourn what never happened while still making room for what might.

You can be grateful for the woman who carried you through yesterday and still hope to become someone different tomorrow.

And you can love yourself through the uncertainty of it all.

Because becoming isn't about abandoning the woman you were.

It's about making peace with her while creating space for the woman you are still discovering.

So, if you've found your way into this little corner of The Wonder Room, consider this your invitation.

Explore.

Reflect.

Get curious about yourself again.

And should you stumble upon something you thought was lost, perhaps a forgotten dream, an old passion, or a part of yourself that has been quiet for far too long, don't be afraid to welcome her home.

After all, she has been waiting for you.

With wonder,

Julia
